Never win if you don’t run, right?

Another general election on the Island, next Monday. Another “first past the pole” model, where the chances of forming a government depend on a party’s ability to field qualified candidates in all ridings. More tablets on the horizon

I’m sharing the room with an iPad2, trying to make head or tail out of the ongoing tablet wars. No, the ‘Pad isn’t mine; I rarely get to touch it. After all, that’s about all you can do with it. Go ahead. Try typing your blog post sometime, for a moment of slow.

Just before I go to sleep

Perhaps a change of time would help. I’ve reflected on my mindset, as presented here, and think that the general tone might be related to my need (imminent) for sleep.

No owe for now

Based on the announcement that Quebec City will not be bidding on the 2022 Olympics, we can get on with our lives. The stress of not being sure, coupled with the anticipation of yet greater levels of civic debt had the locals on the edge of their chairs. Really.

Something involving planes, not trains

Back in 1973, a rail strike meant that I made the trip to university for the fall session by air. My first flight; Toronto to Charlottetown. I don’t claim to remember much about the particulars (it was a Lockheed L-1011 Tristar), and I was able to take photos from my window seat. But seriously, I don’t remember much else.

Debate seen from afar

Political campaigns are great fun for the spectator. Whether or not they qualify as bloodsport is another issue, for another time. If there is no election in your local area, seek out the content from other jurisdictions. Live vicariously.

Stop building in my shadow

When you are ruler of the universe, no detail is too small (to catch your eye). Leastwise, if you are the Mayor of this magical kingdom.

A variation on the free ride song

We’re into (yet) another public transportation week in the city. Yawn! I didn’t sleep well last night.

See the satay

While at coffee this morning, a co-worker mentioned that there was an Asian grocery in town where one could buy the spices necessary for preparation of satay. Fast forward several hours, where the local TV network gave a quick course in preparation of satay. Huh? I awoke this morning, a neophyte.  Now  all that remains is for me to get busy and prepare, you guessed it… Funny how things evolve.
