Oddly enough, this long weekend coasted into the station. No sudden rush to get things done (on my part). No time spent wishing that the lead time would go by faster. I’m relaxed and it shows.

The hero doesn’t have a cell phone. How great is that, when I’m looking for an idol. I mean, I don’t have a cell phone, either. We could be buddies.

A foregone conclusion; the final of AI9 will place Lee and Crystal in the same time-space continuum. Two talented performers, neither quite ready for the crown.

No sense in feeling paranoid. After all, you have no secrets in this new age.
There’s been an awful lot of noise about Facebook, and how “your” information is shared with, well, lots of other people. Come on, that was the point. If you hang your laundry on a line outside, don’t be surprised if the neighbours know about your specked shorts. Still, we’d like to believe that we can restrict the access, if only “just a little bit” (thanks, Supertramp guy).

Remember that commercial for a familiar candy? The one about “eat the red one last?” I knew you’d recall that little ditty. At our house, we have a creature with an acquired taste for the red ones. And the blue ones. And the whole rainbowish spectrum, it seems. On three occasions now, we’ve come home to find disembowled cardboard boxes on the carpet, with nary a wafer in view.

If there’s something that small towns do well, it’s celebrating their own personal identity. Big cities may have the budget to shout from high rooftops, but a town where the council can sit around the kitchen table will win, every time, when it comes to delivering the message. A case in point, the program La Petite Séduction on Radio-Canada.

And with a crescendo, some bows and some tears, the years of high school music are over. I’ve lost track of how many concerts, how many odd practice moments there have been. A lot of vicarious living.

I wish that Mr Einstein was still around. Seemed like a smart enough fellow, despite the hair. He understood something about “relativity”, which lays a theoretical framework on the time system we use to regulate our daily dailies. Here’s the thing; maybe I could get an educated explanation about why my time away from the office goes by so quickly, but the hours at work drag by.

Life is like a hockey game. Without the save, the game ends badly. Happily for the Habs, they’re still safe; the win against Pittsburgh means that another level of playoff competition has been handled successfully. Will the city of Montreal finish this evening so well? Catch the news at 11, as they say.
