If they were aurally acceptable

Hurrah! I got (my) shot, which should mean that the winter will be better. No need to lock myself in the basement, trying to avoid the unhealthy members of the herd. Didn’t get yours, yet? One can only ask why. The teeny-tiny needle didn’t hurt.

But why the delay?

I don’t know much about “product distribution networks”, given that I tend to buy retail. What I do know is that other places get access to cool stuff before we do. I’ve had my eye on some new gear for the last couple of weeks; saw the announcements, twigged that it was something I’d like to own, checked the price point, etc.

The next few hours will be presented in Technicolor

Some nights, sleep is elusive. When things finally kick in, accept that the next few hours will be presented in Technicolor. And then you get up, and the day is not nearly as interesting.

Why this playlist?

The three of us (father, mother, son on a visit) went out to a community event, this evening. A concert of music by local students. And my son asked the inevitable question: Why is the playlist from the generation before the performers?

Own the show

We attended a concert this evening. Based on my efforts through the day, I’m calling this one my own.

Double the fun

Funny how things turn out. Back, several weeks ago now, we went to an excellent concert. As part of the promotion, my name was entered in the door prize drawing, to be given at the end of their festival. And yesterday, I received an email saying that I was one of the winners. Just had to come to their office to pick up my gift.

Concert take two

Grapes and cheese: my idea of a late night snack. Very nutritious, and the dog is still freaked out by small pieces of fruit that smell like his favourite food. I’m not going to clear up the mystery.

Waiting for the key to the shackle

So many new tunes… I know what I like, and I quickly recognize that which I don’t. It’s just… so many. If I was to do nothing else but listen from now until the end of (my) time, I’d hardly dent the playlist. How then to get direction?

The concerts have begun

Suddenly, it’s summer. The first rescue of swimmers on the North Side. The nightly parades of foxes with offspring, criss-crossing the roads. And musical performance. Winter forces a hiatus… a hibernation. Now that the tourists are returning, so are the concerts.

Fortunate to live near nature

Looking out my window, through the trusty ‘scope, I realize that all of those white flashes on the water surface are something living. Birds, diving after fish (I can’t tell you who or what; they’re too far away). Still, I’m glad that the ocean remains an abundant larder. We hear about “the factory ships” which do come into the area, cleaning the depths. I’d hate to look out over a desert.
