Double the fun

posted in education, music |

Funny how things turn out. Back, several weeks ago now, we went to an excellent concert. As part of the promotion, my name was entered in the door prize drawing, to be given at the end of their festival. And yesterday, I received an email saying that I was one of the winners. Just had to come to their office to pick up my gift.

And so we did (we being the dog and I; the usual driver was off on a tour of the southern part of the county). In to the city in mid-morning, and found the address of the committee office without needing to ask for directions. Inside, the three employees were only too happy to turn over my win, and post my photo on social media. And now I own TWO cajons! I can perform a duet, all by myself, if pressured.

It was too hot to do much of anything (remember, the dog…) so we turned around and covered our tracks. Home within a three hour window of opportunity. Even had time to pick up my latest round of eye drops at the local pharmacy.

I’m now back to looking (shopping is too much, given my budget) at the current harvest of “synth modules”. Too many similarities to make choosing anything easy. Guess I’ll have to go back to watching videos, where people with far more talent on a keyboard show me just how good things can sound (in the right conditions). Not sure I’ll get the same success in my basement.
