But why the delay?
I don’t know much about “product distribution networks”, given that I tend to buy retail. What I do know is that other places get access to cool stuff before we do. I’ve had my eye on some new gear for the last couple of weeks; saw the announcements, twigged that it was something I’d like to own, checked the price point, etc.
And, of course, the big online retailers are ready to sell one. Just not to me, based on where I live. Nothing to do with the desire or the ability to pay, they just can’t ship it to me. See the opening paragraph. And so, with my Skype in hand, I decided to beard the lion in its den. I called the manufacturer, where after a long wait I was assured that the product will be available in Canada, soon.
I then called the head office of my preferred online retailer. Again, soon. Next month, actually. And I will be able to purchase one locally (the firm has a brick-and-mortar footprint, just over an hour away). They could probably pre-order, if I’d like. My penny pile isn’t large enough yet, so I’ll hold on that possibility. I just wonder why the “two months later” availability?
Little matter. I’ve got other things to do between now and whenever. Right now, I’m listening to the local (coyote) chorus at practice. The dog is not pleased at what he hears. Who knew he was such a critic? And why doesn’t he sing along? (I know he can do it).
