Concert take two
Grapes and cheese: my idea of a late night snack. Very nutritious, and the dog is still freaked out by small pieces of fruit that smell like his favourite food. I’m not going to clear up the mystery.
This was concert day two. Yes, the same place with different acts. There was even an oversize cake with red and white icing – I didn’t go there. Instead, I just sat in the dark, trying to suss out who might be sitting nearby. The talent was “local”, once again, but the atmosphere was different. Best that I list the players, in no particular order. OK, from beginning to end. About as neutral a way to voice my opinion as I can find.
- The Chaisson Trio
- The Cheveries
- Peggy Clinton and Johnny Ross
- Treble With Girls
Three hours of show, counting a short intermission and a book launch. The book isn’t published, yet, but it’s best to keep people interested in the cause. All things in good time, right. And when the show was over, we headed home to reflect on a holiday well-spent. I’ll be waiting for a couple of new CDs to be ready; more good fiddle airs!
I’m back to contemplating mower repairs; the tricks with the gas cover and the choke haven’t solved the run-for-ten/rest-for-twenty syndrome. The original premise of a spark coil problem is back on the table, and tomorrow (?) I drill for success. I applied more of the penetrating oil which leaves everything else smelling like the attack of the petroleum monster.
