Despite the fragility of a plastic panel, I was not deterred with my most recent project. A slip of the hand, a nod to gravity and hard surfaces; the end piece for my new audio player cracked. But, hey. We have plastic cement for plastics, right? Just a matter of trial and error, to find out which tube works with an unidentified variety of polycarbonate

The dog might be smart enough to figure out which hand is holding a Milkbone, but when faced with two loaded fists, he’s helpless. That’s why we don’t send our pets to the higher seats of governance.

I’d almost forgotten how good radio was. Back in the day, there was a set of anthology albums that covered music “as heard on hit radio” during the period of 1955-1970. Just before FM became a “thing”.

Given the absence of new chocolate around the house, I have to assume that the famous bunny missed his stop. No surprise, really. We were up, mid-way through the night, watching a number of coyotes out in the driveway. Scared us, and bunnies aren’t any braver.

Some things are inevitable, even if the fit isn’t ready for prime time. First up, the electric car. In my media feed, an ad for the Chevy Volt. Looks nice, as long as you stay very close to home. Turns out that it has a useful range of 85 km per charge. I could get to the city, but I’d have to stay there. Think I’ll remain a client of big oil for a bit longer.

I am SO confused. On what grounds do sane people elect a known drug dealer to be (potentially) the next premier of a large province? The votes are in, and our neighbours to the west have done the crazy dance. With the south and the west taken, I have a choice between open water to the east or a long trek to the pole going north.

A bit of wind and rain isn’t enough to prevent safety; my wheels have been retorqued, and if things go wrong, I can only blame myself. Truth be told, they were pretty good already, and this was just a “make sure because you aren’t” move on my part. As for the climate, I accept that life in Canada may not always respect the summertime rule.

One of the greatest causes for stress among teachers comes from an unexpected quarter. The mug. Your mug. When life is driven by that next cuppa Joe, getting to the staff room and finding that your (in the most personal sense) carefully chosen tankard has been “borrowed” by an interloper (nice term for a substitute teacher). After all, having your name and personal motto on the side of the thing only carries importance when it is in your hand, right?

My amp is less noisy, now. Only required that I unplug the guitar, and then carefully spritz all the “pots” with that can of degunk spray that has been hiding for years, along with a regime of knob twisting. Have to wait until later in the week to see if my fix lasted more than a country minute.

Should I brag about it, or keep it secret because enhancing my nerd cred is wrong? Oh what the…! This afternoon, after a short training session from someone via YouTube, I installed the necessary software, downloaded the necessary content and changed the internal sounds on a small synthesizer.
