Think they chased the bunny

posted in environment, food, music, pets |

Given the absence of new chocolate around the house, I have to assume that the famous bunny missed his stop. No surprise, really. We were up, mid-way through the night, watching a number of coyotes out in the driveway. Scared us, and bunnies aren’t any braver.

This is not the first time we’ve had such a visit; the dog is kept on a short lead whenever he is sent out to guard the yard. All the better if we ever have to haul him to safety, given his ambivalence about returning on demand.

This might have been a huge holiday elsewhere. Here, the only highlight was a phone call from home in the afternoon. I’m absent from (yet another) family gathering, involving a whole hatch of grandbabies. Not mine, so the sense of obligation to attend is traded off for a phone call. One of the only times I use the phone, in passing.

I’m waiting, anxiously, to see if I can watch the new performance of JC Superstar. On TV, but not seen by me. I’ll try to pick up the refrain tomorrow. For a musical that many thought would fade from memory in the months after its initial presentation in the very early 70s, it sure has aged well. If I had to star on Broadway (as if!) that would be my choice. I know the words.  No need for a prompter at the side of the stage. I might even be convinced to riff a little on bass. Oh well, in the privacy of my living room, I’m still a star.
