Just thinking about a neat idea for a videogame, where you drive your car really fast through a downtown area, one with some great hills. No real goal in mind, a driving game. Except that the idea is a classic, from a movie.

We went to the big mall tonight, a question of finding a book store. That part was easy. But my heart lay elsewhere, so when the discussion turned to readability factors for ESL at the secondary level, I politely excused myself and wandered on down the concourse. To the camera shop.

I am a socialized being. Quite apart from being social, or even sociable. My mother and father took the time to teach me, early on, that saying what I thought about a particular situation might be my right. But, with right comes great responsibility. Ergo (that’s Latin, not a name for a salad ingredient), I should abstain from saying everything that crosses the threshold of my brain. In particular, the world at large doesn’t need to know what I think about a particular situation, in every situation. Do you see where I’m going with this?

Flavour takes time. Ask my co-cook. We’re six weeks past the holidays, and the slow cooker is starting to play a regular role in diet around here. Not that we lack time, but we often arrive home just before the “proper” meal time. Now that a meal can be set up and left to simmer for the day, we’re back to full plates of food. That’s good. So’s the food.
