Undue complications as a plotline
My life is an open book. Dull, like a bad math text, but nevertheless. No need for government oversight, in case Vic is one of my readers. And I’m grateful. Just finished watching a movie, and if my life was like that…
Cable TV, a mixture of good, bad and indifferent. This afternoon, while enjoying some roast chicken and quiet time, we decided to sit through Something Borrowed, based on the novel by Emily Giffin. If son #3 had been home, we wouldn’t have even bothered (due to the IMDB rating), but we take liberties in the absence of his more critical mind. And with the help of Google, I have a better idea about where the Hamptons might be. Lovely houses, so-so beach.
But I’m more intrigued by the complicated intertwining of the relationships in the movie. If I had friends like that, I’d be watching my back, folks. No intent here to offer up spoilers (for either the book or the movie). There is / might be a sequel (to the book / movie). Suffice to mention that a pretty cover doesn’t make a book or a blockbuster.
And on to other things. Took a look out the window in the direction of our pool. Winter is taking its toll. Some light twisting, a loose liner. Come spring we might have to make a decision. I’m good with a mallet, but if the situation worsens into a tear, there’ll be some accounting principle which helps to decide. Does it stay, or does it go? And if it goes, do I want to learn horseshoes or petanque?
