The human is a social animal. The Idol contender is not. We’re into the equivalent of roller derby, except that the level of cooperation is coincidental. Only one will make it to the top of the pile, and the elbows (vocally) are flying. Welcome to Hollywood. Not as much fun as auditions. A constant reminder of the underbelly of the beast.

With enough time, he could have turned this into a paying gig. It seemed like a sure thing, until he went the extra few lines in his proof, and realized that his regular job paid better than spending and scratching.

The song “What A Diff’rence A Day Makes” doesn’t apply in the context of my local dreamers. I mentioned them, yesterday: Regis and Jean/John. Today their Plan B was revealed, in full technicolor. They are going ahead, despite the lack of contribution from the feds and the private sector.

I’m a day early, and a few dollars shy, but let’s open with a quote taken from the Federal goverment website. The one that explains how a part of the money Canadians spend on every litre of gasoline is earmarked. The part that explains the GTF (Gas Tax Fund), which is a virtual piggybank, collected by piggy from the rest of us.
