I’ve got a soft spot for animated pictures. Not motion pictures; that’s like something from the time of my grandmother. Rather, I’m talking about a class of entertainment that relies on some decent drawings linked with some great voice-overs. The neat part is that I can watch them more than once, unlike the largest part of ordinary Hollywood fare. Finally, a reason to own a DVD player.

Some things are best done with both feet firmly on the ground. Or, at least, watched from there.
I may have a slight case of acrophobia. Nothing severe. I mean, that time when I climbed to the top of a three storey house in Charlottetown and then tried praying for rescue by the Coast Guard was once in a lifetime. It could have been dangerous, if I’d realized just how far above the ground I really was. But that’s beside the point.

I was keen. Pumped even. My latest acquisition from someone on eBay had shipped. I mean, there hadn’t been much communication on the seller’s part, but I’d received a telephone number from the control center, and my Skype skills had me in real, two-way chit chat within minutes of getting home from work. The parcel was “on the road”.

Read a good book lately? Ever? According to a recent study on literacy in Canada, 50% of “us” haven’t. Or at least, not with a reasonable level of comprehension. I read that statistic with great sadness.
