Campers make their own fun. Today, the spectators gathered for multiple loads of laundry. Managed to spend the whole morning, handing out timely advice, drinking coffee cooled by strong breezes and wait for it. Charging various devices.

Life in our makeshift village goes on. With the summer passing quickly, more familiar faces each morning. Conversations pick up where they left off the year before; we have the back stories already learned. At least, the “for public release” version. Who knows how the folk live once the campground has faded from the rear view mirror. Little matter. The summer version fits our lightweight roles.

Given the short duration of my extended family’s visit, we decided to trade some quality campground time for the other side. Cottage time. At least an afternoon worth. Pack the car with us, head west and see how the other half live.

Too much time in the car with a dog leads to irrational behavior. Not just a headline from a grocery checkout tabloid. I’m starting to wish the hound had more than two or three needs, or that he would sing along with the radio (some dogs do, I’ve been told).
