Twice marked by the same wet fence
Two days in a row, caught by wet paint on a handrail. I’d bow my head in shame, but my forehead is too easy a target.

A quiet evening at home, after a day (days) of rain. Didn’t get around to filling the pool, since Nature has already done enough. If thing warm up later this week, I might get around to attaching the hoses and filter. Meanwhile, the local birds are leaving an execrable mess, as they dampen their food in the local lake. A hex on your nests.

A lack of daily sunshine might seem troubling to others, but I have found a solution. My weather station website offered to report the hours of sunlight. I didn’t have the necessary sensor, given a current price of more than $200. Ergo, I’ve edited the webpage and removed the tag. Problem solved. I can measure the rain.

I’m not fixated on climate change… I want some. Enough with the precipitated water crystals.

It has nothing to do with laziness. The reason why we shouldn’t change off the winter tires around here is that the season for new snowfall isn’t over yet. Sigh.

I’m older now, and able to buy some of the little things that would have made sense a long time ago. Case in point: I now own a drum stick bag. Took me just short of four decades to get around to it.

Part of the democratic process requires an informed electorate. The prospective voter must, and I emphasize, must take the time to find out the issues, the proposed corrections and the future intentions. I’m doing my part, one evening at a time.

For a sense of déjà vu, look no further than the announcement earlier today about the “leader debate”. Once again, the big kids have told the little kid (in this case, the leader of the Green Party) that she is not welcome when they dress up and play important games on TV. It has nothing to do with “she”, I hope, and everything to do with a bad dose of self-importance.

If anyone asks, I’m reading a graphic novel for my kids. They asked me to.
Over the last few days, thanks to the mystery of Netflix, I’ve been watching “walkers” (or as we used to call them, zombies). They look the same, they walk the same way, but for some reason the name has changed. Politically correct, or something. And so when I mentioned that the storyline came from a comic book, graphic novel, it was suggested that I find a copy and let them know how that worked out. Compare a 2-D line image with real (and unreal) people on the TV.

I played the lottery and I lost. The snowstorm lottery. Knowing that some special weather was on its way, I cut back on my usual sleep quota. And in the particular way that Fate plays, my office didn’t close. Pretty much the only office that didn’t, in my sector. Even the CEGEPs decided to pause for shovel time. I, by contrast, went to work.
