Stress from reduced visibility

posted in Wx |

I’m not fixated on climate change… I want some. Enough with the precipitated water crystals.

Snowfall 2011-04-20

If the picture resembles something from a few days ago, think of it as a nasty coincidence. That accumulation melted away; this is today’s replacement. Enough wind and water to shut the schools (early, not all day). Despair. I saw this on FB and adopted it as my own.

Another trek to the hospital this morning (which is why the weather was personally important). I mentioned the sharp pain in my eye, and the surgeon explained that I had been operated on recently… who knew that medical comedy had practitioners locally. Never mind.

On the news, two city buses collided/sideswiped when a gust of wind caused the two drivers to lose control, in the same time/space continuum. Both vehicles were officially “in transit”, so no passengers were injured in the incident. Just a bit of pride. Wish I’d been nearby to see it… Tiny automobiles get shifted around in a stiff breeze, but a 40-foot public limousine? Don’t remove those snow tires just yet.

Closer to home, the net access was “sketchy” all evening. Netflix not loading. Wi-fi going nowhere fast. Not sure what to blame it on, since I’m fed by cable. A bit of reduced visibility outside shouldn’t bring my virtual world to a crawl. It felt like a return to dial-up.

Can we move on to the next season? Please.
