Windy world, elsewhere
A quiet evening at home, after a day (days) of rain. Didn’t get around to filling the pool, since Nature has already done enough. If thing warm up later this week, I might get around to attaching the hoses and filter. Meanwhile, the local birds are leaving an execrable mess, as they dampen their food in the local lake. A hex on your nests.
I watching a CNN special on the damage from a tornado in Missouri last weekend, and I’m glad that I live in a zone where weather is an inconvenience. There’s something about the though of a fence post stuck in the living room wall that makes swirling winds into something more terrifying than the sequence with Dorothy and her dog. Serious stuff.
That’s what TV news provides; a timely reminder about how good things are, right here. No wildfire, no earthquake, no wind with a will. Sure, we get some snow that slows life down, and a cold day means wear a coat, but that’s it. That’s all. I’m not even in a flood zone. My overflowing eaves trough is simply a reminder to do some spring maintenance. You know, move some leaves closer to the ground, etc.
Scored a personal saving at the flea market this afternoon. I wanted a plastic toolbox, and spotted one with a $5 sticker. Dug a pair of toonies from the bottom of my pocket, and accepted the dealer’s initial offer of $3. Sweet. Worth my fifteen minutes in the car. For the record, I intend to store external hard drives in the box. Tools of my trade.
