Strange climate moment. I awoke, suddenly; the gust of wind had me wondering if we’d just had a tiny tremor. By the time I went downstairs, the anemometer showed a misleading 0 (as in zero. Dead calm). Turns out that a heavy snowfall had frozen things temporarily, although another gust shook the mechanics enough that we were back into recording mode shortly after. A downtime of eleven hours, according to the stats page. Enough snow came down to break one shovel, which means that winter may be here for the next few months.

Music on demand. Not the content available on the radio, and there have always been radios around the place, including one with a B battery that my father kept in the ktchen. Rather, music in whatever the packaging format of the day happened to be.

Campers make their own fun. Today, the spectators gathered for multiple loads of laundry. Managed to spend the whole morning, handing out timely advice, drinking coffee cooled by strong breezes and wait for it. Charging various devices.

It wasn’t an impulse purchase; it was a rational need. I am being held prisoner in a dog-controlled room, and the lack of musical opportunity made me detour into that music store up the road. I’m a gearhead. Nothing to do with wheels and sprockets, and everything to do with patching one electronic device into another. This afternoon, with only the dog to protest, my first massive MIDI test is completed.

About a year ago, we went to the Metropolis, for the fun of it. A chance to get out of the house, test our multilingualism and shop. A little. We’re not big shoppers. Along the way, after an afternoon of shopping for brass, I decided to add a MIDI controller to the facilities here. Even upscaled, when the price point was right.
