Evolving style

posted in environment, music, technology, Wx |

Strange climate moment. I awoke, suddenly; the gust of wind had me wondering if we’d just had a tiny tremor. By the time I went downstairs, the anemometer showed a misleading 0 (as in zero. Dead calm). Turns out that a heavy snowfall had frozen things temporarily, although another gust shook the mechanics enough that we were back into recording mode shortly after. A downtime of eleven hours, according to the stats page. Enough snow came down to break one shovel, which means that winter may be here for the next few months.

Any plans for travel (at the household level) were shelved until the next sunny day.

During the afternoon, a friend forwarded some photos of the construction site. The house isn’t there, yet. The ICF is in place, and cement is curing, and it all looks much larger and whiter than I had imagined. The project will require about a meter and a half of backfill on the road side, as grade is achieved. Even in the view from the road, the ocean is there. Really there. I’m happy.

Trying to put some order in a series of older music files. From an interest point, knowing the release date helps; I can listen to an evolving style. Means some time spent doing simple research; I now have the time. When I compare the “one hit wonders” to the career crowd, I stand amazed. Some people just have “it”, and the fan base lets them know it. Imagine a creative run of four or five decades! With new ideas!
