FInding shelter in a glass hutch

In terms of architectural merit, or insulation factors, this little building may not seem like much:

Wiry interweaving

In the basement (storage central), I have an old canvas mailbag, used to store odd lengths of wire. Repurposing, in the future sense. Although this photo shows a similar bag before deployment, imagine full to the point where lifting is a challenge.

Random lengths of wire

Don’t worry. I didn’t get all crazy today, despite the possibilities. No, I was busy building a dream.

It takes years to become a real star

Not much occasion to make stuff (electronically) these days. After all, you can buy most things, already assembled. However, I indulged myself last evening and this morning, and I now have a small QRP antenna tuner. A slight reduction in consumption would suffice

After calculating the risk involved, I’m still going to poke fun at the cries of despair from certain students. Not about assignments, or impending examinations. Like Nessie, not always in evidence

Think of it as a retail romance. I’m referring to my long term, ongoing, frustrating relationship with the local box store hardware emporium. A place with an inventory count that requires high school math, but that never seems to stock what I’m looking for.

Intention to construct antennas

After some careful thought and investment, I’ve decided to turn this into this.

Seldom heard

With a few hours available, I decided that today would be a good opportunity to investigate something I’ve only heard in rumour: propagation beacons.

Stop building in my shadow

When you are ruler of the universe, no detail is too small (to catch your eye). Leastwise, if you are the Mayor of this magical kingdom.
