Out with the old, in with the new

Bring on the bargains. I’m ready to deal.

That’s a nice way of saying that I’m actually too cheap to pay full price. No reduction for whatever the justification, and I will find a way to do without. That’s why, when the background noise at home mentioned the need for a newer iPod, I started noticing the asterisks in the flyers. In particular, the one that offered $50 for trading in an old MP3 player.

Big plans for a small house

Far from the range of marauding sharks

Oh great! Just when I it was safe to go back in the water…

That story actually belongs to the hardy souls of Brisbane, where the river is trying to get out of bed in a big way, if you catch my drift. The locals have been warned that there may be bull sharks in the dusky new swimming area, just outside the back door. Now, I put two and two together, jumped to the assumption that this was a strange Australian sighting, until I came home from work and caught the tail end of a documentary.
