Pack the essentials

Maybe this fire story is more complex than I thought. Someone (who knows about such things) believes that there might be a small explosion related to the incident. That’s how it works in the movies, and who knows if reality is that far removed from fiction.

Ignore the odour

Today, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate died. I know, he did some other, less important things along the way, but the name Gorbachev deserves to be remembered. With respect. Not everyone is “the enemy”’.

No free riders

Sitting among your peers, in a classroom. Or warming the bench with your hockey team; you come away with the impression that there’s always extra people ready for a given job. In real life, not so much. Keeping someone on standby is hardship, for your payroll.

Along the rainbow trail

I lost track, this afternoon. Unable to enumerate the rainbows that kept coming into view as we drove from there to here. Yes, I understand the science. No, I did not invent any of them. Just there, in the sky ahead. A good thing; a sign that the rain has stopped, and that there is sun coming out from behind the clouds. They were all the same, and all different. The colour sequence is a constant, according to the science. But folks get really excited about spotting one, so spotting multiple ‘bows is a positive thing. Doesn’t cost any extra.

When you get to the border

Could it be that travel videos have given me false impressions about crossing international borders? The more content I consume, the more confused I become.

Deeper sleep

I am a sucker for slogans. Today, I learned that “if you sleep deeper, you dream bigger”. And I don’t know what to do. How will I ever quantize something of this ilk?
