Pack the essentials
Maybe this fire story is more complex than I thought. Someone (who knows about such things) believes that there might be a small explosion related to the incident. And those two gunshots, that I heard the other morning (at exactly 3:08 a.m.) might be a detail. I don’t know about such things; I am just paying attention to what others say. That’s how it works in the movies, and who knows if reality is that far removed from fiction.
We’re slowly stowing stuff in the RV. I moved the batter pack, and included the various associated chargers. Not sure if I want to play with solar panels, yet. I also refilled the main water tank, which left me wetter than I wanted. Going to have to figure out a better method. Right now, I point the hose at the fill hole, but there’s a lot of loose. As the level climbs, so does the chances of an inplanned bath. Maybe a sized nozzle. Time for more Amazon searches.
And naturally, there is stress. If I don’t pack it myself, I have questions. If I do pack, I have others. Things that are out of sight are also out of mind. I’d like to bring ALL the toys along, but I have to make weighted choices. The right chargers for the iPad, and the headphones, and the light… you get the idea. I’ve been asked to include a chair. Why would I want to sit (outside)? Is this like camping, minus the tent and the rain?
What about food? There is the restaurant game, but reading the menu is the game, distilled to essentials. A week (is it a week, or longer?) of Big Macs will leave me anxious to get back to my kitchen. Refrigerator. The dog has it easy; his kibble jar is already filled, and he can sleep almost abywhere. Yes, he has a bed pad, and he won’t share. Dog rules.
