Stop when we get therer
Perhaps the script was written with disappearning ink. Perhaps there wasn’t a script, and we just followed the road. Little matter; we did not sleep at home last evening.
With a fully loaded RV, including that expeensive fuel, we turned out of the driveway and let the road dictate the destination. Sure, we had ideas. But when faced with a roundabout, it’s hard to know which way to go. And so we went for food. One of those customized sandwiched, in my case. And then we kept on driving. To a beach.
Actually, we started by going to a campground. Asked about simple, no services required sites. And through Jedi mind tricks, the idea of just going on to the beach parking lot and stopping to see what the night might mean seemded possible. If the police happened to notice, we could claim tha we wanted to watch the moon rise. Or count the flashes from a nearby lighthouse. As it turned you, we diddn’t have to excusee our choice to anyone else.
Things get dark. Earlier than I remembered. By nine p.m., the best place to be was rolled out on the bed deck. Even the dog agreed. And when the rain started, we knew that this was the best choice. The sandwich was good, the tin of water was fair, and the sleep was (not as good as back home) OK. When the sun came up, too early, we were ready for the new month.
Actually, we won’t be doing any long range travel, until that little “check engine” beacon on the dashboard is resolved. The “repairs” done, last year, were incomplete, and so we’ll get back into a service bay in a few weeks. Until then, life will be close to home. I like my home. No hardship.
