With the reflexes of a practiced parent

Among the things that I  noticed during a (rare) full family moment: cellphones are as demanding of attention as are small children. And small children require a whole different level of attention.

A new class of talking heads

When I was a kid, I wanted to be an older goat. There; an aside for today, stripped from a commercial for some faceless charity. I liked, so I made it my own.

Some things work

My vacation isn’t over, yet. However, I did wake at the regular time, and provided a support role for a ride into the city. Funny, when you ride the bus there are a slew of aggravations that don’t get noticed. For example, a car is a cold place to start the day (in January). The windows take a long time to clear, even with the fans on turbo speed. The other drivers are driven, dangerously driven. Hill and dale and intervale

Packing the night before, getting up with the rising sun, deciding on the direction to travel; the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. At an hour where we would usually be boiling water for coffee, we were already on the boat.

Picking a fine table

Sitting over by the fire hall, I can’t help but notice that their free wi-fi now has a name that reflects the status. A change made over the last couple of days; are they getting that much traffic here in the parking lot?
