Neither crisp nor brown

Somewhere along the way,  around the age of nine, I learned that what you thought you had seen  might have been something completely different. I say nine, because we had just moved to a new town. Our first town. And the people upstairs had made French fries. Like I had seen in the restaurant, but right there at home. I was ready to add this to our home table.

If I only had some video

Somewhere along the way, my education was derailed.  The ability to tell a story was removed from my curriculum, and  replaced with endless hours of calculations. Math, mainly, but the basics of physics and chemistry instilled. Distilled. Not sure why, because quadratic equations  have never figured highly in my needs.

Do I DIY or buy, buy, buy?

Classify me as conservative, if you wish. Not in my political views this is about technology. Right now, I have slipped into a rabbit hole, learning about batteries. There is a price point that gives me pause, and when someone extols the virtues if DIY, I want clarification.

How many fingers

Seeking a ceast-and-desist order,  for an unexpected headache. The usual dose of ibuprophen has been swallowed, and now I am trying to be patient. A long day, out in the light, with some chemical soup in the eyes can bring  discomfort. I know this.

Never breathless

When asked if I found myself out of breath, after going up   a flight of stairs, I had to pause and think, before answering. Not to catch my breath, OK. Moving along. The reality is that I no longer have to run upstairs. Not physically possible, unless I wander into the basement.

Lane clearance

The snow, last night, was hardly substantial. Enough to renew interest in snowshoes, without forcing the need. We did close the schools, but that seems to happen without any particular motivation. A budget line. And this way, we know where everyone is, in the morning. Sleep soundly. I might check the deck for accumulation, but I haven’t found the inspiration just yet.

My too short attention span

How do I summarize more than forty years of cinema.  A period that requires a triple-trilogy to spin out the tale?  That’s easy. I have a confession. I never watched that saga.

Cannonball

Several years ago, an intrepid pair of explorers, with a dog, set off to see the world. Criss-cross the continent. Dip a toe in the Pacific. The usual stuff. Took them (us) many weeks, and in retrospect the trip was too fast. Should have slowed the pace and taken more photos. Oh well, next time. Pay attention to the time allowed, because if factors into the story.

Disposal is included in the price

Too much information! This afternoon, I watched an excellent video on black tank maintenance. A black box and a black tank have a surprising number of common points. The main one being that you cannot see what is actually happening inside, so you make all sorts of suppositions. None of them are incorrect.

History, from my perspective

One of the better kinds of history is when it tells “his story”. Right up there with my story. Social history, since I have no political background. My own history is mundane, but when I can overlay it with that of my peers, we have something worth the retelling’
