Disposal is included in the price

posted in Uncategorized |

Too much information! This afternoon, I watched an excellent video on black tank maintenance. A black box and a black tank have a surprising number of common points. The main one being that you cannot see what is actually happening inside, so you make all sorts of suppositions. None of them are incorrect.

The black tank is the place beneath a common RV where personal waste goes to die. You never want to recover what goes in there. Instead, there are inconveniently located places that will accept your contribution, and you hope to be complete in your effort. Otherwise, you will have to endure the unwanted side effects.

I learned that dumping a gallon of bleach inside is not a recommended practice. As well, using too much paper is not a good idea. Do not shred your classified documents for secondary storage. Use a lot of water. Not to the point of overflow. Instead, rinse and repeat, until you feel like you have things under control.

In case of emergency, there are trained professionals that do this for a living. Pay the price. Really. You and your neighbors will be happier. Again, use lots of water. Have I forgotten anything? I hope not.

I admit it. I am an amateur. Only good luck has prevented environmental disaster, as I went across the continent, unaware of proper techniques. Actually, the best advice is to frequent fast food restaurants while away from home. They all have restrooms, and they accept donations. Anonymously. Sounds like a plan going forward. End to end disposal, with less mess than one might expect.
