The delivery driver demonstrated remarkable patience. First, the dog with the hoarse bark. I explained that it was due to age, and that he used to sound better, a long time ago. Then, the handoff of the package, where I reached where it wasn’t. No big deal. Please sign my gadget. Turned it to an appropriate alignment, handed me the stylus which I managed to get upside down (end to end), and showed me the X, which I could not see. I digned, soft of. He then asked for my name, because the package was not mine, and we went our separate ways.

We are creatures with memories. We like to remember. In the company of others, we reminisce. Alone, we recall. Triggered by people, places, things, emotions. Pretty complex, actually.

I admit that some of my “tests” are almost a joke. Closing my eyes and wandering around the interior of the house? Got that. Wandering around my back yard, on a moonless night? Got that. So, today, I went for a drive in the country. No, not as the driver; my rightful place is riding shotgun. But, we did go backroads. In places that I don’t really know all that well.

To mention campus food services is to remember that we were offered “room and board” for a price. Food was important, but so was your sleeping quarters. I may have mentioned “dormitory” in there. The campus, when I arrived, had four.

Still in line for the cafeteria, if you will. When you are young, food is very important. I had the deluxe package, no longer availhle. 19 meals, per week, with an “all you can eat” view, exceptlign steaks. Why nineteen. The meal planners assumed that weekend breakfasts would not curry munch interest, so we got what is not known as “brunch” to limit the dumping of a full hot tray of eggs. I get in, now.

Yes, this will be another post based on history. My history, because this is my story. A lot changed for me, a half century ago.
