Planning your getaway home

Let’s take a few minutes, and dig into the memory archives. Go back to when my drafting tools included a few pencils along with a ruler (a straight edge, not royalty). I didn’t have much world experience, so my efforts were rudimentary.

Watch the door

This afternoon, we have a second dog on site. The blue-eyed boy from up the road. He’s  very well behaved. Almost angelic, with a stealth mode. And although we had no incidents, it helps to remain on high alert, when it comes to open doors.

Is the problem random or intermittent?

If you live with technology (as we all do in the ‘20s), you will have encountered “internittent”. If you haven’t, wait. The nature of that beast.

Fresh blood for the genny

Want to feel like you’ve been sidetracked? Sit idly by when one of “your” jobs is handled by your successor. I guess that’s why they try to get the old guy out of the cubicle before shoehorning the new guy into his place.

Begging, but with a polite tone

Clearly, I do not grasp the fundamentals of having a personal fortune. I read that essay by Stephen Leacock. I counted all my pennies in the sock drawer (question: are pennies still legal tender?) I have carefully avoided the pitfalls of borrowing beyond my means. Still not ready to proclaim that I am independently wealthy.

Reinflation not required

Big day for me, in the health system. I was bilaterally jabbed. Actually hoped for a triplateral, but they ran out of available arms. Now, I get to stay close to my comfort zone, with a fresh bottle of pills. Just in case. It should also be noted that none of those odd little hole covers were required, post-jab. Nothing appears to have run out of the punctures (not even air), so I shouldn’t require any reinflation.

Trying to keep the lights on

I am not your classic hoarder. I do not keep large volumes of a flammable gas on site, because it plieases me. No, I am someone with less trust in my local electrical grid than before. In fact, less than at any other point in my life.

More than muscle memory

bTime for me to make a (mental) list of jobs that used to be easier. You know, back when I could see what I was doing. Muscle memory is over-rated.

Rooftop optimization

My growing interest in alternative power sources lead me into some twisty passages. No nuclear, here. Rather, I’m going to do an age test. Do you remember pinball machines?

Still a mystery to me

More than a half century has passed, and I still have a pressing question. What is a tillerman, and why did Cat (Stevens) make that term serve as an album title. Was it the tea? What type of tea, because I really have so many questions.
