Getting weather buzzes

How about if I respond to an ordinary day, anecdotally. Let’s go with weather, because we all “kmpw” about the weather locally.

No brain freeze resulted

This afternoon, I did the unexpected; I watched a few minutes of Winter Olympics coverage. While waiting for the evening news, as an excuse. My brain didn’t freeze, although the streaming was seriously flawed. And by the time I determined the sport and the teams involved, Canada earned a gold medeal for Women’s Hockey. That’s good, right? The risk of my returning to the channel, to follows ski cross or downhill whatever are very low. The only number that counts is the medal totals, if the news coverage is to be trusted.

Try to reseed your playlists

The premise that I’m getting older is true. I can tell, in so manuy ways. However, I wasn’t warned about the effects of music.

My reward for my sprint

My life (and yours, no doubt) is just a long chain of moments that are often similar at first glance. I’ll hold for “they are all unique”, but that’s philisophy. Let’s stay with the reality. Yes, I know, we have too much garbage. I am old enough to remember a “burn box” across the road. And the endless fires, with smoke and seagulls, near theharbour. A past abberration.

A return to normalcy

Outside, a world of swirling whiteness. Snowstorm. Good enough to close the schools, and limit the plow. Despite that, sometime just before noon, the genny service truck pulled into the lane, and the two trained techs were on my job, immediately. I did go out, but only because it seemed like a friendly move. They knew what they were about.

IS it freedom or freedumb?

From the news feed, I’ve learned that the bridge in Windsor is now clear, and that the impromptu parking lot in Ottawa is emptying. And I’m left to wonder why this required so much time. After all, we’ve had blockades before, and the police were more than willing to intervene. Could it be a question of religion?

Can we just get on with our lives?

Sitting here on a lovely Friday afternoon, waiting. For the promised propane delivery, mainly. But also for the end of a winter that is now starting to weigh heavily on my spirit.Call it cabin fever. I don’t get out much, other than to medical moments.

On the circuit

One of the joys we have from living in the country is watching outside. As the song says, “the birds, the bees, the flowers and the trees”. All part of our daily entertainment.

The task required a keen eye

Years ago, (many years ago), one of my met tech instructors (Norm, it was you, right?) explained that there were conversion factors. To evaluate just how much water had fallen, no matter the temperature. He then explained that water would melt snow, and at that point my math skills fell short. No matter.
