Buying used equipment can be a great deal. You get something that has been proven to work, you save money over retail, you get to put a lot of effort into shopping. Fun for the whole household. I have got some of my best stuff that way.

Among the treasures from today, illicit materials. I agree, it sounds interesting, but it is not really. We did not find much that had value, as we waited for a series of rain showers to pass over. The lawn had been close cropped, earlier in the day, so we did not mind a cheap watering for our lawn.

Today, our big green machine went for a trip, down the hill. Breaking a trail through the first growth of the year, to allow the absent owner access. With a car. I had this imagined scenario, where our little rig got caught in the tall weeds and had to be towed back to civilization. It did not happen, but it could have.

One of our ferry boats is broken. That is the second one on a year. Since the replacement ferry is off to dry dock for its annual refit, we are now down to a bridge and not much else. I live on an island, so these details are important.

Based on several minutes of research, I now know that this is the solstice. Not the midsummer night. Not sure if anyone really cares. Today, the temperature rose sharply, and we picked up the first real round of sit and sweat in the car. Just like summer.
