The benefits of warming weather
An early spring, by all accounts. As proof, I note that we’ve already transported three squirrels to new homes in the primeval forest, several small rivers away. The running water may slow the return to our bird feeders for a bit. Unless, as I suspect, the species understands the concept of highway bridges. We’ll see.
We were off for breakfast, this morning. Another benefit of warm weather; the dog is content to sleep in the back seat of the car during our absence. When we get back, he is content to see us. He’s really content about just about everything, actually. Discounting stray dogs visiting “his yard”.
Sadly, Chuck Berry is no more. That man understood his public, and “My Ding-a-ling” was NOT his only hit (a side note for my children, who haven’t a full grounding in the genealogy of rock music).
I’m back in the market for a decent yogurt incubator. It was pointed out, over breakfast, that there is far too much sugar in the store-bought product. I can agree with that. Now to find a reasonably priced source of the powdered milk my project will require. There must be a low-cost source out there. Can’t afford to pay what the Carnation Cows demand. The garden (last year) taught us one thing; stuff will grow. We can modify our diet, without the world collapsing in a high-fructose meltdown. Not ready to get chickens and a token milker, but anything is possible. Or so I’ve been told. I’ll start with some fresh yogurt.
