Rightful rebuttals

posted in education |

Another rodent taxi trip this morning. There’s no way that yesterday’s passengers have made their return journey that fast, so I continue to believe that my population reduction is working. I know, I’m just a simple human, up against a much wilier force of nature.

Right now, the world championship in Women’s Curling is underway. Coming in from Beijing, via satellite, in the middle of the night. I get the scores before breakfast and then the opportunity to watch the rebroadcast in mid-afternoon. Knowing the outcome of a match in no way sours the pleasure of watching stones being thrown between rivals. Almost like a fallback to much earlier periods of history, although I doubt brooms were used in the “modern manner”.

We almost went for a Sunday drive today. Curling intervened. The roads will be there, tomorrow and tomorrow. Curling, not so much. Personally, taking pictures of muddy fields is not a priority. I’d rather save all that digital film for better days. Like July, or August.

The present storm watch continues to waffle. Learning that “we could get snow or rain, tonight or tomorrow, maybe” hardly sends tremors of fear up my spine. More, a state of wondering… will the dog get wet or just white?

After reading some threads (on topics like global warming and social justice), I may start checking out the “channels”. Seems to be a lot of rightful rebuttal going on, and I do love a good putdown. My kids know this (which is why they are among those reposting those pesky threads).
