What I learned at trivia

posted in environment |

With the province finally releasing its ten-year strategy for energy use, I finally took the time to read the Coles’ Notes version. My take: looks like the paper was wasted. Telling people that reductions are in order and pairing it with a promise of two new wind farms doesn’t inspire confidence in the leadership. Yes, the wind blows here. No, not all the time.

This was a community trivia night, with no questions on the energy plan. Instead, a very “St. Patrick’s” hue to the questions. I learned that the original national colour was blue. And that if you don’t wear green today, you might get pinched for your neglectful choice. Other than that, we had a much younger table than usual, which made some of the music questions into slam dunks. I mean, I’ve heard of Motley Crue. Actually knowing their sound, not so much.

The dog waited patiently. Talking  to other pet owners, I learned that cats are the Red Seal for low maintenance. Leave some food and water within reach and you’re free to hit the road for a bit. Dogs, not nearly. Be prepared to share your hotel room with your best friend, or forget about ever getting out of the house. Not even for trivia…

The local garage will accept my used motor oil donations, so there’s no reason left for avoiding maintenance on the genny.

My outdoor lights are doing their “own thing”. Turning on/off according to no particular trigger. Might have to clean and re-aim the sensors, once good weather returns.
