Proactive activities
The dog may not realize this, but I am proactive on his behalf. Not to be caught with my head buried in the sand, or worse, with the head of a tick buried in his flank, I bought him a brand new flea and tick collar for the upcoming season. Why, one announcement claimed that the wee buggers are active once the temperatures get up above 4C. Today we barely scratched thaw levels, but it’s just a matter of time. We are now prepared.
The Great Irish Feast day is tomorrow, but I was proactive, again. Had a fine feed of corned beef and root vegetables at my preferred restaurant in the city. Tasty? Tasty! There were no corned roasts available at the supermarket(s), but I’ll be watching. No sense in limiting fine cuisine to a single day per year, right? And given that the garden is now a “hot topic”, I’ll make my request for a square of turnips and carrots with cabbages on top. The potatoes are all around me.
This evening, wielding a finely machined Allen key, I assembled a new chair for the gaming room in the house. I may never get to sit in it, other than for bouts of computer repair, but my part is played. Incidentally, USB cables are outrageous in price. I know; I shopped. Still had to pay about triple what I thought was fair market value. Next time around, I’ll ignore the local trade and send my dollars over the seas to China (where the cables all originate, in any case).
