Adding a uke to the studio
Today we did what had to be done. Instead of staying at home watching the new grass grow, we went to the city. Left in mid-morning, and arrived in time for some impressive rainfall. Based on the reports of others, about 65mm in an hour or so, which meant that we had to plan movements around showers.
The rest of the new sewing machine arrived, so we started with that pickup. Two large boxes, plus a visit with the family of an old friend. Imagine; since I last crossed paths, the group went from “soon to be married” to “six kids and a grandkid”. Two of the girls were in the shop, along with the new arrival. Humbling.
Enough chitchat. I wanted my lunchtime special at Papa Joe’s. If ever I find a source for the meat they use in their boiled dinner, we’re modifying my family’s diet. Promise. Plus, I ate all my vegetables AND skipped dessert.
There was a rumour that we needed more musical instruments around the house, as someone felt left out. Easy to fix that; within minutes, we added a uke to the list. Now to enjoy the happy sounds of sunny island singing and dancing. Or something like that. Turns out that purchasing an instrument for the upcoming class lessons wasn’t required, but this way there will be less excuse for not practicing.
Hard to leave town without a stop at Canny Tire. I now have the garden hose attachments, and we own more tiny tools for digging in the dirt. That includes a miniature rake (purpose unclear).
On the way home, we were introduced to a very friendly puppy in a parking lot. That same rumour mill says that another dog would make the house happier.
