A squeal against the howling
Please pardon the dog; he’s a bit stressed. Something about a full moon and the coyote chorus change him, into a squealing mass of nerves. Not sure if he wants us to challenge the locals for “top of the heap”, or try it himself. In any case, the wind has died, and the rest of us refuse to feed mosquitoes while he makes up his mind. Just move along.
Our first meal of Chinese takeout. We’d heard rumours that there was a stealth restaurant in town, and tonight I dispatched a team to verify. As a result, we had the best MSG hit in ages. I even went so far as to make a copy of the menu, just in case we decide to repeat the experience. To be fair, the whole idea of going for a meal had started with a discussion about a trip to Covehead. In the end, it seemed too far. Hey, the restaurant will be there, next year.
Took a delivery of furniture for the basement bedroom earlier in the afternoon. The same fellow that delivered the large appliances back in April; he noted that we seemed better settled in now. Chairs, etc. I showed the two guys our geothermal system, given that they seemed curious. I guess the two wellheads seemed to be a departure from the norm.
I had to sit in as a member of an impromptu HR team today. Really outside my experience and my comfort zone, but sometimes you have to give back. Shouldn’t come up again any time soon. I also visited the local credit union, to start the procedure of being named an official financial officer. Again, new experience.
