Calculating the relative loaf value

posted in economy, food, genealogy |

Who knew that a soft football could garner so much attention? Happened across a press conference, on CNN; in a world where so many things are wrong, a full fifteen was devoted to finding out how many ways a really well paid coach could say he knew nothing about how almost all of those balls lost air. I missed the second act, where the quarterback said the same thing. Now I’m pumped for part three.

Picked up some more flour at the market. A quick round with the calculator shows that the prepared loaf (in a designer plastic sack) costs way more than what I can turn out with the new machine. My creations have a shorter shelf life, but that’s better, right?

Son #2 is showcasing his newest recipe this evening. A  sour mango beer… can’t wait to learn how friends and family react to the flavour. The dog and I had to guard the house.

Spent time helping a total stranger with the inevitable pruning of a family tree; uncontrolled growth causes a confused profile, and sometimes the view from another perspective helps. I had common elements in my own data set, so it was just a question of figuring out who we had in common. Some screen shots, a couple of selected Street Views, quick error fixes and we were done. I think that might be the most fun I’ve had with tracing genes in ages. I tend to work in isolation; it’s good to share once in a while. Realigns the compass.
