My stubborn path to a new software skill
Don’t look for me on Instagram. I’m not an influencer, I’m not a model and I really look uncomfortable when holding a fork near the dessert place. Plus, desserts (pie vs cake vs a fruit salad with an excess of melon) are too sweet.
I finally followed the clues on Google Maps, and got a look at son #1’s new workplace. I might have to get him a GPS for the next big holiday.
Through perseverance (a synonym for stubborn intentions), I gained a useful database skill today. I had promised someone else a copy of their own genealogy data. And, I was too lazy to extract a thousand related names. So, using software, I funneled the data into a new “tree”, and it worked as I wanted. The person at the other end of the conversation now has a copy of the material. Just in time to populate a new software purchase.
What else is new? Very little. I lobbied for a sit down supper, here at home, just because going into the city seemed like a long way to a short term solution (I will be hungry by morning).
It’s that time of the year. Highways have closed in northern Ontario, and Albertans getting ready for something similar. In BC, hundreds are trapped in their cars by unexpected mudslides. If you wonder why I just want to stay home and grow old graciously, look no further. I know; “winter is coming”. I’ve heard the G of T warning before. As soon as I find my mitts, I’ll be ready for the season change.
