In the absence of any real plan
This must be a Canadian thing: in Saskatoon, a beaver stole a flag (and then ate the flagpole). Picture of his hairyness in supporting evidence.
Today, the prime minister held a press conference, where he confirmed that restrictions due to the pandemic would be loosened/lessened going forward, “It depends on the vaccination rate, the COVID situation, the variants of concern”. Or as we say in French “Plus ça change, plus c’est pareil”. I’m seeking a nuance here, and all that comes through is that “we don’t know what tomorrow will bring”. Quotes are free.
Is that all you need, to be a politician? A good Rolodex of quotes. Bring it on, then. I can read with the best of them.
In a second story out of Saskatchewan: a girl wore her grandmother’s dress to the school formal. I will assume the grandmother was not cohabiting the gown. You know, SK is a hotbed of weird and wonderful anecdotes. Must be those sunsets. In passing, we went through the province, but we didn’t catch the colours. About all that I recall was staying in one of the funkiest campgrounds that I ever did see.
We almost went camping this week, but a mixture (mélange) of work and weather has postponed our departure. Eventual departure. We won’t be stymied by a little rain. I fully accept that summer has started, and I can afford to waste a few days between now and snow time. I really don’t have any big plans, and the dog is good with whatever, as long as I continue to share the kibble/meal bone/sow ear collection.
