Trying my router on its edge

posted in computing, health, technology |

Someone gave us some trendy food for supper: a “meal in a bag”, if you will. Unfortunately, not my “bag”. Knowing what will sit well in my stomach is perhaps one of my greatest accomplishments that comes from getting older. Moving along.

I took a look at the ease of moving the router upstairs, and it doesn’t seem as simple as I had hoped. For the evening, I moved the magical box of internet up about a meter, and left it sitting precariously on a ledge. This will require some effort, and right now I don’t want to stand on a stepladder while I seek a solution. Moving along.

The new car is home from its trip to the undercoater. Not a long process, given that we parked it by a commercial garage last evening and went back by noon today. I’m unsure of the efficacity, but I’m allowed to be an unbiased bystander. We’ve never had any of our cars rust out, despite the climate. I think of this as a cosmetic afterthought, rather than a necessity. It came recommended by our mechanic, but the shop belongs to one of his friends.

I dug deep into the lens bag this afternoon, and decided to capture the view from the deck using a couple of my wider angle solutions. No real effort required. I’ll analyze my results, soon, and get back to you.

Coming soon to a smartphone nearby: an app that will signal if someone known to be Covid-positive is nearby. At least, I think that’s the intention. So far, the app is only “out there” in one province (not this one).
