Take no hostages
No sense taking chances. After reading two different news articles this morning about personal datasets taken hostage, I decided to run a “scan” on my hard drive. It’s been going for more than seven hours, and the end is nowhere in sight. Small wonder that people tend to trust any program that says “you’re safe”. For the record, the two articles involved very different players: a small office and a whole school board. In both cases, a disastrous result to opening a simple email attachment.
