The view from here
Ever and ages ago, in that period of my life that I classify as BC (before children), I went to school. A series of them, actually. One of them tried to instruct me in the generalities of weather observation, as part of my job. The finest minds from MetCan (OK, Norm…) spent hours explaining that there were many wonderful things to observe. I recall, mainly, fog.
There are a number of types of fog, each one with its own Wiki section. Today, faced with the view from my deck, I tried (unsuccessfully) to sort out the difference between “radiation” and “advection”. No matter; what we really needed was a fog horn.
