Skunked by the imaginary hare
Maybe I’m a victim of folklore, or having forgotten to shop before the deadline. Whichever; the house was without any trace of holiday candy this morning. No oddly shaped rabbits made of chocolaty (not a spelling error). No coloured eggs filled with traces of marshmallow (and peanuts). Not even a slab of decorative toffee. Skunked, by the hare. Unless we hit the shops, tomorrow, this will go down in family history as the candy holiday that wasn’t.
