Unexpected results abound

My ebook reader comes with a gentle, daily reminder from its parent that I should read more. Read equals buy, but that’s an other discussion for another day. The thing is, there’s a lot of stuff to read between now and the end of (my) time.

Stop building in my shadow

When you are ruler of the universe, no detail is too small (to catch your eye). Leastwise, if you are the Mayor of this magical kingdom.

Inventive notepaper

My search for a pen and paper proved fruitless. I knew I’d never retain that twelve digit number until my arrival, so I did the next best thing. I etched it on the side of an available banana with a pointy object, stowed my data and climbed on the waiting bus.

Approach to the limit

Half way through the weekend, with nothing to report. No good, no bad. The groceries are in, with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables in the larder, an attempt to live longer.

Easing the penalty for crossing the border

The US is hinting that our “cross border quota” is stingy. For obvious reasons, the Canadian retail industry is already seeking shelter from the storm, reminding the government that competition is an ugly word.

Never having seen one, I called up some classic art. Somehow, I think the real ones are less graphic and a lot more terrifying.

Twist a bit

Funny thing; a special guest on the evening news brought back memories of my first effort to Dance, as opposed to jumping around in a genetic response to fiddle music. In town, for a concert, Chubby Checker. And yes, he still teaches the Twist.

The ease of an easel

There’s a new PHP bug, and I’m too lazy to fix it. Will this be the death knell for civilization as I know it? Nah. Maybe over the weekend, I’ll work through the script.

Piling up the debt

Let’s try to keep things in perspective. Locally, there’s a call to raise university tuition by $505 per year for the next few. Our students took to the streets in protest. Nothing came of it. In the United Kingdom, there’s a call to raise university tuition by $14,000 (once, not for the next few). The students took to the streets in protest AND kicked the limousine chauffeuring Prince Charles and the Missus. Talk about upping the ante!
