Watching for deliveries

posted in media, Wx |

For this winter, I’m officially setting aside that whole “March, lamb, lion” silliness. This month came in nasty, and it is going away nasty. Why, even the big blue tractor paid us a visit this morning, doing what I seriously hope will be the final snow-clearing effort of the season. I did some quick math, and I’m getting my money’s worth out of the contract, this year.

Of course, my only reason for noticing is that my search for the missing deck railing cover will have to wait for another few days. The melt is coming. Really.

Watched another seriously “wild and crazy” movie this evening: Office Christmas Party with a cast drawn largely from the ranks of SNL. Good fun, even if it bears NO resemblance to any office social moment in my working lifetime. OK, there was that one toga party, but does that even count? We were all so young, and away from home…

The postal lady dropped off a parcel this afternoon. I don’t understand their system, at all. With a variance that ranges from “pick it up in Souris”, to “left a card at the general store” to “your dog is barking, but I’ll come to your front door anyway”, I never know where to look for deliveries. Add in the courier people that may put it in the garage, or wait for me to come out to the truck, or even share their dog biscuit stash with the hairy one; keeps me guessing. Which reminds me; soon be time to order one of those cedar planks to scrape the BBQ clean. And see how it gets delivered.
