TV and prophecy, of sorts
Beware the wordsmith! A certain president-elect was called out, last evening, during a major Hollywood award show. The recipient of a very prestigious award used the time allotted for the standard speech to mention that P/E and his shortcomings. Without ever uttering his name, no less. I’ll let you seek out the actual delivery (via YouTube, for example). Just a reminder that some have the ability to address the public without resorting to the word “huge” repeatedly.
The temperature dropped, today. Thankfully, so did the winds, so I didn’t have to fret over my new snowbanks growing. Getting “huge”, if you will. Or building a wall around us. Which brings me to another fun bit of history.
Not all TV from the past is available, but sometimes what turns up is absolutely prophetic. Take this clip, from a horse opera that aired back before “a man on the moon” actually had meaning. (1957)
Now, doesn’t that make you believe that Hollywood is more powerful than certain politicians. Oh, and the good guy went on to star in I Spy, in case he looked familiar.
Enough of that. I received the power cable necessary to install a new SSD (drive); the mounting frame is due tomorrow. Meanwhile, I’m busy backing up “huge” amounts of data, to allow a reduction in my install payload (that’s tech talk). If all goes according to plan, the new drive should boot by tomorrow evening (no, it doesn’t take that long to put things in; I’m not working to anyone else’s timetable).
