No spare wheel just yet

posted in media, technology |

After a visit to my bicycle dealer, I’ve decided against the “spare wheel” solution. This isn’t the right time of the year for used parts. However, a side visit to the bookstore means that I can look forward to solving a jigsaw puzzle. There’s a logical link here, given that the puzzle is a collage of old bicycle posters.

The heavy rains seem to have missed my part of the planet, and our speedy trip down and back did not involve any hydroplane activity. Reassuring, actually.

I decided to revisit past cinematic themes, this evening. The “new” version of the Rocky Horror show is visually better. Ditto for the sound quality (through headphones). Alas, the plot line remains as ambiguous as before. I’m not sure if the younger folk will understand the irony of watching a movie within a movie, complete with props and fan dialogue. Will I watch the whole thing again? Maybe. I’ve heard that there is a sequel to the first film, and I want to see that… just as a point of reference.

Fixing things around the house requires either good intentions or the right materials. I learned that certain drawer pulls in the cabinetry were attached… loosely. Seems that the contractor didn’t understand that whole Imperial vs metric thing, and the screws were too short and too large. My visit to the local hardware store brought me part way to a solution, but Amazon has been brought in as a bit player. More screws, on order. Meanwhile, we’ll be attentive.
