It always rains, sooner or later
I’ve decided that the CBC preemption of the suppertime news to bring me suppertime sports has a plus side. I’m getting to watch events that would normally not “cross my radar”. This evening, people jumping off a very high platform to land in the water, after twisting in panic all the way down. I understand! I’ve also decoded the scoring: the least splash wins. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
We’ve been getting some needed rainfall, all night and now all day. Should lessen the panic shown by farmers who fear our equivalent of drought. Relax, folks; it always rains, sooner or later, around here. I’ll have to go out and dump the folding chairs before thinking about watching the sun goes down. Oh, wait. Not going to see that, because it’s raining outside.
Took a risk and ordered something on the web. Shortly after, the company emailed me, to mention that the article they had in stock was, technically, old stock. A previous model. Lacking in many of the features that had come about in the latest product update. I rescinded my order, they returned my e-money and life is going on. Could it be that the novelty of people shopping without ever coming into the store has been accepted as mainstream? Or as those of my age group see it, a nod to the century worth of mail-order shopping from a catalog. I don’t remember the mechanics behind ordering in the old days, but it must have involved the post office. It all comes ’round…
