Seeds as gold

posted in environment, ham radio |

Less than twenty-four hours from the hanging of the open for business sign to the arrival of the local thief. A security camera caught him busy picking through the displayed products…

However, capture of the alleged robber will be made difficult, as he seems to have friends that dress EXACTLY like him. Could this be a gang thing? At least the squirrels aren’t in on the act, just yet. Maybe later in the week.

The range of firms that deliver parcels in this area is impressive. Today, a poorly marked white van, taking care of business for some American merchant. Just before that, Amazon via the postal people. So far, my confidence level remains high, that we can order stuff and expect delivery (other than generator keys, apparently).

More genealogy gains; Google delivers (in a different sense). Throw in a pair of names, a geographical area and “bazinga”. Or as the joke goes, “Bob’s your uncle”. Today, I added several new families, driving me on beyond 50K (names interconnected). From a humble start with just over a hundred names, back when son #1 piqued my interest.

The wire for my counterpoise is in. Now I get to cut dozens and dozens of lengths of stranded copper, before laying out the grid on the lawn. Could have it all done in a couple of days, if the rain holds off. Preparation for the quiet times of winter. No big plans here. A Beverage is not in view (although I could hide the strand along the treeline and see how things work out. Perhaps in the spring.
