Through the wall, at last

posted in humour, technology |

An unexpected poke from the past, today; scrolling through a local history book and spotting a familiar face… from when I was seven years old. I wonder if I’d have the same “recognition factor”.

Today, a couple more of the outside jobs got done. We now have a bird feeder in front of a window. Save the starving birds, etc. Although the hope is for fully fledged fly bys, we might have to put up with the real robbers. Squirrels. I know they’re out there, and I know they have super powers when it comes to free food. Perhaps they’ll be as entertaining as a jay or a sparrow, in the long run.

I also decided to get my coax from here to there. Through the basement wall, etc. And not wanting to transform the north wall into a mini Swiss cheese, I spent a few minutes conning things out. Up the ladder, with a flashlight and a camera. With the new spade bit, the whole job took about ten seconds, and it worked. Just need to jam some putty stuff around the cable, once I’ve finished my pull. Done. Before the snows. I’m proud about that.

My intermittent tummy trouble has subsided. Wish I knew the trigger cause. Last night wasn’t a good sleep session.

We’re still getting addressed junk mail, a full five months after notifying the sender that we’d moved on. Is there a secret to getting them to ignore us. Other than not sending any cash, I mean. Every mailout costs something; our address is probably written in red ink on some balance sheet, and the newbie with the envelope duty doesn’t understand the code.
